I turned 28 last week, and Iām truly grateful for everything that has happened in my life and for where I am now. I canāt wait to continue this journey and live in a way that, when I look back years from now, Iāll be proud of how I spent my days and the choices I made. My life wouldnāt feel this full, happy, and wonderful without the people and things that I want to celebrate here.
So, here are the people (and little things) Iām thankful for. Thank you for making my life one sprinkled with joy and funfetti.
My boyfriend
Thank you for being my rock and my biggest supporter. You never let me settle for less than my best, and I love that about you. Youāve taught me that love isnāt about perfection or endless toleranceāitās about honesty, growth, and choosing to help each other become healthier, kinder versions of ourselves. With you, Iāve learned to face hardships as temporary challenges, to see life with more gratitude, and to keep moving forward with determination and hope. Thank you for being exactly who you areāIām so grateful for you.
Our cats
Our two sweet, silly, and loving fur babiesāyouāve brought so much colour into our lives. Rescuing you was one of the best decisions weāve made, and we canāt wait to give you even more adventures once we move into our own home. Get ready for grass under your paws, trees to climb, and endless treats. I love you both fiercelyāIād even fight off bully cats for you! š
My best friend
Iām so thankful that youāre still here in my life. Every time we talk, Iām reminded of how lucky I am to have you. You see the world with so much joy, compassion, and gratitude, and being with you makes even the simplest things feel special. Thank you for showing me that happiness doesnāt have to be expensive or grandāitās often found in the little things. My life is brighter because of you.
My friends
Iām grateful for each of you. Our time together always fills me up, and your perspectives on life help me see the world in new ways. Even as we scatterāwhether abroad or busy with āadultingāāI know our friendship will always endure. Youāre an extension of me, and I feel so blessed to have you all.
My mum
We havenāt always seen eye-to-eye, but Iām grateful to have you. At the end of the day, having a mother is enough reason for me to be thankful.
My family
Iām proud of my nephew and niece. Seeing their progressātheir studies, their lives abroadāfills me with hope that theyāll break cycles and create something better for themselves. Their resilience inspires me.
My job
Five years in and I still feel grateful. Iāve learned so much, grown so much, and been supported by a company that values its people. Youāve given me stability and the chance to live a life I enjoyāso yes, Iāll thank you like youāre a person. š
My choices
The good ones, the bad onesāall of them led me here. I know I havenāt reached my full capacity yet, but Iām on my way. As long as each step moves me forward, Iām already grateful.
My health
Iām thankful for my body, my strength, and the ability to choose a healthier lifestyle every day. I may not be exactly where I want to be yet, but Iām getting closer. More than quick fixes or indulgence, I want longevity: to live well, strong, and full of life even at 60 and beyond.
Turning 28
Not everyone gets the gift of reaching this age, and I donāt take it for granted. Iām thankful to still be hereālearning, growing, travelling, working, and living honestly. I’m also grateful that I celebrated my 28th birthday abroad! My dream is simple: a life lived in better conditions, a life lived fully.
